Update: 7 Days in to Creating for 10 Minutes Every Day
In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, finding time for art may seem like a daunting task. However, I am going to prove that by committing to just 10 minutes a day, we can unlock our artistic potential and transform our inner worlds. This blog is a reflection on my journey to discover the magic that unfolds when we make time for our creativity.
Over the past 7 days, I've been amazed at the progress I've made. Despite facing special circumstances (tummy problems) and feeling overwhelmed, I've found solace and rejuvenation through art. By dedicating myself to these short daily sessions, not only am I completing long-standing projects but I've also embarked on new ones, fueling my imagination and creativity.
Day-by-Day Progress
Day 1: In a brief 10-minute session I painted with 2 Painterly colors, creating a beautiful blend of colors.
Day 2: I utilized a stunning IOD Rose Toile stamp to add a touch of elegance to my desk, showcasing the beauty of watercoloring.
Day 3: The birth of "Side Eye Sally" occurred on this day. With the theme of "Cowgirls and Fairies," I combined decoupage papers and transfers to create a whimsical story. My imagination ran wild, intertwining the Wild West with enchanting fairy glens.
Day 4: I brought Cowgirl Sally to life by carefully decoupaging her onto the canvas, adding depth and character to the piece.
Day 5: Beautiful DIY Paint Bohemian Blue and Salty Kiss paint hues brought a vibrant energy to Sally. I also incorporated the Chateau paint inlay, tying together elements of the Wild West and the magical realm of fairies.
Day 6: Removing the inlay sheets was like unveiling a hidden treasure. After spritzing the paper and gently peeling it back, Sally emerged in all her glory. This step solidified my love for this project, leaving me excited to add the fairies.
Day 7: Returning to my desk, it was time to wax and allow the piece to cure. Whether I decide to sell her, keep her, or save her for a summer faire, the satisfaction of completing this project is immeasurable.
Conclusion
Committing to consistent creativity has not only reignited my artistic spark but has also brought unexpected benefits. I'm overcoming my discomfort of going live and realizing the need to optimize my streaming platform. Additionally, I've recognized the importance of organizing my creative space for ease and efficiency.
Ultimately, this journey is about discovering what happens when we prioritize our creativity and sustain our motivation and inspiration. I invite you to join me on this adventure by dedicating just 10 minutes a day to creating. Together, let's unlock our artistic potential, explore our inner worlds, and embrace the transformative power of consistent creativity.
